DPJA Alums Honored with Nobel Prize

Drs. Jennifer Doudna and Emmanuelle Charpentier, who won the Dr. Paul Janssen Award for Biomedical Research in 2014, have received the 2020 Nobel Prize in Chemistry. Johnson & Johnson was proud to recognize Doudna and Charpentier in 2014 for their discovery of the CRISPR-Cas9 method of genetic editing, considered one of the most significant breakthroughs in molecular biology in the past decade which has led to a substantial leap in scientists’ ability to manipulate genetic processes and holds promise for significantly advancing drug development.
